[02:22:23] sevenseacat: but I have seen people leave off the .html. in .haml.html
[02:22:32] VeryBewitching: I wouldn't imagine using it for anything else.
[02:22:33] sevenseacat: .html.haml, sorry
[02:22:43] Scriptonaut: I've use js.haml
[02:22:46] Scriptonaut: and file.js.csv

[02:24:37] Scriptonaut: and you need some server-side info
[02:24:42] Scriptonaut: I don't tend to use that pattern much though
[02:25:04] Scriptonaut: the only reason you'd do it is for = and -, you wouldn't use any of the tags
[02:25:09] VeryBewitching: Oh, I tend to leave data tags in the DOM for scripts to pick up on.

[05:07:15] penne12: wordpress is php - it's pretty different from rails (they get actual files, almost like a plain html, so changing something without breaking everything is easy)
[05:07:39] penne12: But it's pretty much a script that sets everything up, and then destroys itself
[05:08:08] ynonp: has joined #RubyOnRails

[10:40:32] goldbug: In a simple_form input, is it possible to populate the field with a value other than that of the input?
[10:40:51] goldbug: Have tried this but no dice: <%= f.input "#{name_field.to_s}_#{@language}".to_sym, value: @person.send(name_field), label: name_field.to_s.titleize %>
[10:41:31] rvanlieshout: goldbug: set that value in the controller
[10:41:36] rvanlieshout: before you render that form

[10:44:27] rvanlieshout: on how to set the value
[10:45:24] goldbug: They suggest value_method but I tried that too and still nothing.
