[02:22:28] AOSGm: i guys, for the life of me i can't seem to find the button to import the Dark glass theme. Is there someghing going on with the pafs?
[02:28:07] AOSGm: Im trying to setup http://opensourcebilling.org on my vps.debian 8x64, checked firewall and everything, by all acounts from the log its up but when i visit e url page not found
[07:17:43] darthShadow: I need some help with overriding the behaviour of ActiveRecord::Relation query methods for a few models ?
[07:27:24] darthShadow: tbuehlmann something similar to this : https://stackoverflow.com/questions/39706608/how-to-override-update-all-for-model-relations-for-specific-models-only
[09:01:33] darthShadow: tbuehlmann not exactly any of those, i am looking to implement custom functionality for caching
[11:17:19] Sylario: I use ember-cli-rails and I have the following error when I try to reload the ember page after editing a ruby file : `A copy of ApplicationController has been removed from the module tree but is still active!`
[11:18:12] Sylario: It works once i restart passenger. I guess it has to do with the live reloading of dev, but I am not sure where to look
[12:50:41] DaniG2k: I'm having some trouble with Dropzone in a multistep vue.js form within my Rails 5.1 app
[12:51:04] DaniG2k: I've outlined the problem in more detail here: https://github.com/enyo/dropzone/issues/1632
[14:56:05] rubio: ok, so, i need to "disable" the bundling feature of sprockets, (for js). I have set debug mode so i get every file separate in production like in development mode, but the sprockets is still bundling the JS anyway even if i don't use it. Can someone point me in the right direction?
[23:00:29] pwnd_nsfw: I want to make an online text editor where two or more people can make changes to the same "file". I'm wondering what would be the best front end solution for this? I'm having trouble, really, thinking of the best way to have the changes be made
[23:01:03] pwnd_nsfw: I'm thinking react, but from the knowledge I have in my head already, I'm not sure how the changes would be made without refreshing the entire contents of the file
[23:01:28] pwnd_nsfw: So far I'm thinking my stack should involve actioncable, redis, and possibly react
[23:01:55] pwnd_nsfw: all of these things I need to learn first in order to complete the project. I figured it'd be a great project to learn these items
[23:03:15] pwnd_nsfw: Does react solve my problem of not having to refresh the entire contents of text area?
[23:05:02] matthewd: pwnd_nsfw: That doesn't really sound like something you want to create for yourself if you can possibly avoid it
[23:09:31] pwnd_nsfw: I figured after making it as a standalone, I could then learn how to make it so people could integrate it into their existing code
[23:09:49] pwnd_nsfw: idk, it just seemed like a "simple" project for me to learn a bunch of stuff along the way
[23:13:52] pwnd_nsfw: matthewd, have any other suggestions for a project that'll help me learn what I've listed above?
[23:15:00] matthewd: Not off the top of my head. I'd just note to consider which part you want to focus on.
[23:16:10] pwnd_nsfw: What I plan on making would essentially be a chatroom where you can edit the chat lol
[23:17:06] matthewd: e.g. a shared editor *would* involve something like actioncable+redis communication, and perhaps some form of react interface behaviour... but the hard part (I expect, without having ever implemented such a thing myself) would be all around text diffing, merging, and representing those results in the UI in a usable way
[23:18:21] matthewd: So if you're after a challenge, go for it.. but if it's a "learn/practice actioncable etc" vehicle, it feels like it could mis-focus the bulk of your effort
[23:20:33] pwnd_nsfw: ye, looks pretty complicated. I've literally been just sitting around with my... yeah, anyways, I've had a lot of time on my hands
[23:20:50] Radar: Guessing people moved to Slack but I stay here because the last thing I need is another Slack team.
[23:37:00] pwnd_nsfw: It'd probably be better to create a bot that interfaces with rails instead of making rails the bot with actioncable.....
