[12:46:34] adac: can one puma worker use more then one cpu/cpu cores?
[12:49:14] workmad3: adac: probably, a puma worker is threaded, so the threads could easily be scheduled on different cores
[12:49:44] adac: workmad3, ok I see yes thanks
[12:49:53] Aherin: has joined #RubyOnRails
[12:50:42] workmad3: of course, if you're using MRI, you're going to be hitting the GIL, so even if the threads are scheduled on different cores, you'll only have one active at a time per worker
[12:55:28] adac: workmad3, To make sure if I understood you correctly: If I use MRI (which I do) on 4 puma workers I could only have 4 threads running in parallel/at the same time? Means I would be good with giving this instance 4 CPU cores
[13:09:42] roshanavand1: has joined #RubyOnRails
[13:10:08] NL3limin4t0r: Is there an easy way to load associations with a certain scope and navigate to them without a new query being triggered? My example is: `User.joins(:user_contracts).merge(UserContract.active).last.user_contracts.active`
[13:11:11] NL3limin4t0r: In the above case assume `#last` is not called, but `.user_contracts.active` is called for every record.

[13:20:22] Jameser: has joined #RubyOnRails
[13:21:10] tbuehlmann: NL3limin4t0r: so you want to preload the association with a condition, right? you could have a new association with a condition, like `has_many :active_user_contracts, -> { where(something: true) }`. including the association should then just work
[13:22:49] tbuehlmann: if you don't want a new association, you could also use the preloader manually: https://github.com/rails/rails/blob/7efb4d23c1022108319add6218ae9d9284936ac5/activerecord/lib/active_record/associations/preloader.rb
[13:25:17] tbuehlmann: (I think the preloader is not considered public API, though)

[16:36:28] cpruitt: So I’m having a problem where I can’t run `cap` as a binstub. `bundle binstub capistrano` creates the binstub but then `bin/cap staging deploy` responds with ‘could not find command “staging”’. Just running `bin/cap` seems to run `bundle/install` which is kinda wierd to me. Am I missing something here or is the internet just trying to further force me into a self distructive downward spiral of low self esteem and depression?
