[04:45:10] Prutheus: Hello, I have a question which is not really Rails related but at ruby channel there is bedtime at the moment :D
[04:45:19] Prutheus: I am using a bittrex api wrapper for ruby, where I can do a client get request to the api with parameters (see https://github.com/mwerner/bittrex/blob/master/lib/bittrex/client.rb). I want to call /account/getorderhistory (see here https://bittrex.com/home/api). So after i setted up my client with secret and key, i do c.get('account/getorderhistory') this works
[04:45:24] Prutheus: but now, i also wanna pass the optional paramter market, so i do c.get('account/getorderhistory', {market: 'BTC-ETH'})
[04:45:31] Prutheus: but now, i just get returned a nil, why? what am i doing wrong?
[04:45:49] Prutheus: c.get('public/getticker', {market:'USDT-BTC'}) there teh parameter works, so I dont know what I do wrong...

[05:11:20] amperry: I have a model, Resident, which by default creates an associated Placement object, except when I add a Resident to an existing Placement (resident belongs_to :placement, placement has_many :residents). Is this merely a matter of defining new in my model such as "def new(placement = nil); if placement.nil?; self.create_placement; else; self.placement = placement; end; end" ?

[05:18:26] meesles: don't even need to pass it in
[05:18:58] meesles: and only create the placement if needed, don't set the placement. just let activerecord do its thing
[05:20:14] amperry: right, but how do I tell activerecord that it's needed? If one exists and I want to assign this resident to it, how do I say that?
[05:20:55] meesles: Resident.new(placement: Placement.find(whatever))
[05:21:28] meesles: If not, Resident.new only, let the callback create it
[05:22:51] amperry: aha... you're right, I'm trying to duplicate what activerecord already does.

[09:15:08] za1b1tsu: Wouldnt be more logical to have @user = User(:one)?
