[00:56:04] amperry: hi folks, I was just creating a new project (5.2.2) to test something out, and now when I run 'rails g scaffold checkbook', the command just hangs there. Usually this is something that takes 10s at most.
[01:02:45] amperry: of course, maybe I should check my capitalization

[12:21:06] learner: i've tried adding --verbose and TESTOPTS="-v"
[12:21:13] learner: neither works.
[12:29:53] conta: has joined #RubyOnRails
[12:39:44] learner: https://pastebin.com/0xd0qukx
[12:46:45] snk: `bin/rails test -v` seems to work for me
[12:47:07] snk: it prints out the `Class#method` slug for each test that runs
[12:48:05] learner: snk, which version of rails are you using. i'm using 5.2.2
[12:48:36] snk: i'm also on 5.2.2
[12:49:13] snk: ah, but this appears to be related to some test config
[12:49:37] snk: i have another app that's configured to show a progress bar when i run tests, and -v doesn't work
[12:51:32] learner: snk, I haven't configured anything, I've just used minitest.reporter like it was on the site
[12:51:59] snk: yeah, the one that doesn't work for me is using minitest.reporter
[12:53:05] snk: one that *is* working is using whatever the default setup is when you `rails new`
[12:55:25] learner: found a solution
[12:55:51] learner: https://github.com/kern/minitest-reporters
[12:56:01] snk: yeah, just found that too!
[12:56:12] snk: `Minitest::Reporters.use! Minitest::Reporters::SpecReporter.new` in test_helper.rb
[12:56:59] snk: ACTION should read manuals more often
[12:57:25] learner: thanks for the help
[12:57:31] learner: this was driving me nuts
[12:57:48] learner: i usually use rspec and cucumber and it's much easier
[12:57:52] learner: it just works out of the box
[12:58:01] learner: using minitest was much harder for me
