[00:13:05] jtperreault: funkytwig: yeah, I think you need to setup the opposite side of the association there on your models
[00:13:50] jtperreault: funkytwig: you have belongs_to :walk on WalkSection, but on Walk do need to add has_many :walk_sections
[00:39:09] funkytwig: jtperreault, is ther a way of doing PM in IRC, would like to send you the link
[10:23:07] nakuku: Hello. Is there any way to efficiently handle uploads - im talking about own implementation. Use case is the following: Rails app handling interactions, Upload server, Python server with quick access to file storage that performs processing on these files (image border detection etc.)
[11:50:03] mmoll: Could anybody have a look onto https://github.com/rails/record_tag_helper/pull/10? :)
[11:50:30] mmoll: I guess there are some projects out there still using rectord_tag_helper that are testing Rails 6 now...
[11:52:24] sevenseacat: but for the record I don't think dependencies should be relaxed that much, you can't guarantee it will always work with every future version of rails
[13:04:24] Animazing: I'm going a bit crazy in here trying to upgrade 4.1 to 4.2. I'm getting problems where bundler just won't resolve the gems correctly. I must be missing something very obvious, see: https://dpaste.de/ROy3
[13:04:43] Animazing: Anybody know what might cause this? I mean 3.2 seems to be >= then 4.2 so why won't it install?
[13:07:07] Animazing: Is it possible it won't really resolve an issue until it can complete the whole update process?
[13:11:04] xco: Hi, i created a model already but just forgot to set a columns default value and i don’t want to delete the model and regenerate again, how do generate a migration to add a default value?
[13:37:40] MrCrackPotBuilde: I read that its still pretty much the same only an endpoint changed is this still accurate
[13:43:11] xco: i have a model City and another model RoutePoint which is described as having a `city` column that’s of type “association”, how do i create this association? will this men RoutePoint belongs to City? and should have city_id as column? Here’s a pic of the description of what i’m trying to implement https://gyazo.com/5b28946e1b1b6d1ac0b84b215dea5f22
[13:44:47] xco: my thinking is to create a belongs_to :city association on the RoutePoint but not sure
[13:49:21] xcode: : i have a model City and another model RoutePoint which is described as having a `city` column that’s of type “association”, how do i create this association? will this men RoutePoint belongs to City? and should have city_id as column? [15:08:20] ss942: Would it replace whole loop or just first tag with <% @grouped.keys.sort.each do |group| %>?
[17:22:41] Net: setting config.active_record.logger = nil doesn't seem to silence logs on rails 5.1.6. did something change?
[17:45:15] hahuang65: oh config.active_record.logger should still work. Hate to be that guy but did you reboot your server?
[17:56:24] Net: Why would setting it in a config/initializers not work but setting it in development.rb work?
[19:51:13] andywww: what are your go to gems for monitoring practices? stuff like rubocop, brakeman and bullet?
[20:39:04] jackcambridge: Quick question. If I see a GitHub repository that uses Ruby, how can I tell if it uses Rails or not?
[21:59:54] funkytwig: OK, sorry its config/initializers/rails_admin.rb that ismissing from rails_admin
[22:02:21] michael_mbp: I used to be a regular here; semi "retired" now, but thinking of getting back into contract work (remotely)
[23:45:18] andywww: my system allows admins to create users and ping them an email with login details but the auto generated password is showing in plain text in the log data when it shows the email being sent
