[08:23:42] jasmin: Hello there, I am in production env., I have this rule in my css file : "background-image: url('frog-1347642_1920.jpg');", that made the fatal error "ActionController::RoutingError (No route matches [GET] "/assets/frog-1347642_1920.jpg"):"
[08:24:56] jasmin: I read a lot of ideas to resolve this, but none is working
[08:31:25] jasmin: In my conf I put config.public_file_server.enabled = true. For the Js files it is ok, but for the images in the folder assets/images I still have this issue

[08:42:47] jasmin: Hello conta srinidhi
[08:48:54] ZAJDAN: jasmin: hello, Iam greenhorn in RoR, but I think you have to edit/adjust your 'routes.rb'
[08:49:46] ZAJDAN: css has nothing with the routes
[08:50:17] jasmin: Hello ZAJDAN, I do not think so, in dev env. it was not necessary
[08:50:32] ZAJDAN: you probably call some method from controller which is not routed correctly
[08:51:34] jasmin: I do not do something special
[08:52:10] jasmin: there is the css rule and the file in
[08:52:17] jasmin: the folder
[08:52:29] ZAJDAN: yes but anyway...you message say something About ActionController
[08:52:39] ZAJDAN: point Yourself there
[08:52:45] ZAJDAN: or the routes
[08:53:08] jasmin: I think there is some route generate in rails core, yes
[08:53:35] jasmin: It might have been generate for the js file
[08:53:49] jasmin: I would like to do the same for the images
[08:53:55] ZAJDAN: or You could try change the absoluth path to the image to relative path

Completed 500 Internal Server Error in 164ms (Views: 3.8ms | ActiveRecord: 5.0ms). looking at the error im going to take a wild guess that its looking for a view. but its a JSON only API. there arent any views
[09:56:12] MrCrackPotBuilde: Its strange too because the error only happens on log in not with register or update.
[09:56:35] MrCrackPotBuilde: and im still able to log in and get the users profile in return. the error is the last line.

[16:14:49] retromode: hello. im following this guide https://edgeguides.rubyonrails.org/engines.html#hooking-into-an-application (namely 4.3.2) in an attempt to have an library engine inherit from a different AdminController (i guess similarly to how the guide does the same but with the application controller). is the proper approach to create a controller that i own that inherits from AdminController and simply calls the mounted engine when that
[16:14:54] retromode: do all of that work in the routes file itself?
[16:15:52] retromode: the engine i'm mounting is sidekiq, if that helps

[20:55:22] rbanffy: NL3limin4t0r_afk: I'm following the tutorial. Installed a clean container with a Fedora 30 install, ruby, dev tools, headers, etc. When I create the blog app and try to serve it, it complains of missing pieces and suggest a bundle install. It's then that I get messages like "Ignoring bootsnap-1.4.4 because its extensions are not built. Try: gem pristine bootsnap --version 1.4.4"
[20:55:48] rbanffy: Sorry for the late response.
[20:56:10] rbanffy: I'm now rebuilding the container with rvm.

[20:57:14] octos: has joined #RubyOnRails
[20:57:15] rbanffy: A lot of the people who had these issues had them because they were using rvm and the extensions were built for a different ruby, but the container is a very simple install with only the bare essentials (and one single Ruby runtime).
