[12:19:43] acosonic: hi, is there some ROR based webmail client?

2017-10-25

[08:15:05] acosonic: Hi, can someone please upvote my question so I can get unbanned on stackoverflow... https://stackoverflow.com/questions/41758923/counting-chars-in-ruby-1-9-3-error Thanks!
[08:20:40] acosonic: I can't ask new questions...
[08:23:20] acosonic: tbuehlmann: yup I got into fight with one of moderators, because he told my question was a duplicate, but in fact it was not, there was a difference if you are addressing all attributes with some generic query, or if you are typing them one by one...
[08:23:29] acosonic: So he wouldn't have my question unlocked
[08:25:52] acosonic: But then when I looked back I've figured that some of questions could have been improved, so I've improved them...
[08:26:09] acosonic: Now waiting for upvotes, to be able to ask questions again...
[08:26:50] acosonic: basically it was a good thing to get into fight with that guy, because it made me realize that my questions didn't get enough views and didn't get upvotes, but only banning me made me fix that...
[08:33:09] acosonic: why downvote?
[08:37:03] acosonic: tbuehlmann: Why downvoting without telling what's wrong?
[08:38:44] acosonic: ah, sorry it's not that question :D I've actually got downvoted on one after editing....

[11:01:51] acosonic: I can't get on green branch with rails routing... So I have Mns2NotificationsSettingsController and filename is mns2_notifications_setting.rb and in my routes I have match 'mns2_notifications_settings/:id/update', :controller => 'mns2_notifications_settings', :action => 'edit', :via => [:get, :post, :put] and I don't have model, but when I try posting on that controller via form that I created like controller=> action=> with form tag I get
[11:01:53] acosonic: uninitialized constant Mns2NotificationsSettingsController
[11:02:14] acosonic: I'm sick of this problem, I'm trying to solve it for days
[11:04:47] acosonic: maybe its because I don't have model or something I hate ruby debug messages it's very bad, compared to other frameworks
[11:21:39] acosonic: I tried both, but end up with same result
[11:24:53] acosonic: and this is what I have when I run rake routes
[11:24:56] acosonic: GET|POST|PUT /mns2_notifications_settings/:id/update(.:format) mns2_notifications_settings#update
[11:24:57] acosonic: GET|POST|PUT /projects/:id/mns2_notifications_settings/:action(.:format) mns2_notifications_settings#:action

[08:54:23] acosonic: I'm new to rails but I know what you think, so I should have already instanced that object and
[08:54:31] acosonic: form_for would create it?
[08:54:40] acosonic: not sure exactly
[08:55:57] acosonic: I just want to know how would route look like so I learn routes properly
[08:56:59] acosonic: it does not say anything if you have underscore in your controller name
[09:06:31] acosonic: Yes ProjectsSettingsController and in my routes I wrote resources :project_settings but I keep getting no route
[09:15:39] acosonic: Hm, it should be project settings though, since each project should have its own settings
[09:16:43] acosonic: but currently its projects settings

[09:20:09] acosonic: <%= form_tag({:controller => 'projects_settings', :action => 'edit'}) do %>

[09:27:09] acosonic: norc: what's your rate?
[09:28:27] acosonic: it's not for me, but for community, open-source :)
[09:29:14] acosonic: ddv: I tried migrating some other plugins, but routing is killing me
[09:30:07] acosonic: and how much is usual rails developer per hour fee?
[09:32:22] acosonic: arup_r: I don't know about this PDF plugin, haven't tried it with 3.2, I was just trying to do some customizations, and realised that Redmine uses some ITCPDF library which does not seem very flexible... And realised that wicked PDF is much better...
[09:33:21] acosonic: arup_r: I'll give this one try right now
[11:16:52] acosonic: what would be proper way to resolve this? http://apaste.info/i9s
[11:20:21] acosonic: adaedra: why would I update it when my version is newer?

[11:26:12] acosonic: sevenseacat: hm didn't work, crashed :) let me try your way now...
[11:27:15] acosonic: sevenseacat: where can I lear what am I doing? The gem and changes of their version how that process occurs?
[11:29:23] acosonic: sevenseacat: no I want to know what happened, did bundler do something to files Gemfile in particular etc...
[11:30:27] acosonic: Hm, so bundling and updating of plugin now succeded, but Redmine crashed with follwing message... You specified: nokogiri (>= 1.6.7.2) and nokogiri (>= 0) (Bundler::GemfileError)
[11:35:45] acosonic: ok so I'm trying to resolve situation where plugin asks for different versions of gems (older) than main app https://gist.github.com/acosonic/0a4126e8995641f36907
[11:37:00] acosonic: so should I just remove them?
