[19:00:23] alex88: Hello everyone, I'm trying to run rails c from a ruby 2.3.7p456 docker container, I've installed dependencies while building it using `bundle install --deployment`, if I do `bundle install` I see `Using rake 10.5.0` but when I try to do `bundle exec rails c` I get `Could not find rake-10.5.0 in any of the sources` `Run `bundle install` to install missing gems.`
[19:00:29] alex88: what should I try?
[19:04:17] alex88: `bundle show | grep rake` shows rake 10.5.0 too
[19:05:43] alex88: havenwood: https://gist.github.com/alex88/e74ddff14c5e70bcce7736e056f8359e
[19:06:45] alex88: btw I've added the dockerfile I'm using in the gist
[19:09:09] alex88: oh ok, that's set by default from the official docker image, let me try to unset that env variable
[19:09:30] alex88: however, the `bundle exec rails server -b 0.0.0.0` works fine, it's just the console that doesn't
[19:10:56] alex88: same after unsetting https://gist.github.com/alex88/e74ddff14c5e70bcce7736e056f8359e#file-after_unset
[19:11:46] alex88: I'll try to use /usr/src/app as workdir first
[19:11:50] alex88: The Gemfile's dependencies are satisfied No issues found with the installed bundle
[19:12:14] alex88: after unsetting that I get `bundler: command not found: rails`
[19:12:21] alex88: let me try to change the workdir one sec
[19:21:06] alex88: ok well, changing workdir didn't work, using `bundle install` without `--deployment` worked :) thanks havenwood!

[20:34:38] alex88: Hi there, I've a strange issue https://requestb.in/ugtb7yug?inspect the first request is sent with httpie, the second one using a load test tool. To me they seems identical, but rails in the first one accepts all the parameters, in the second one it shows 'Parameters: {"machine_log"=>{}}' and so no data in the hash
[20:34:42] alex88: any clue on what could be?
[20:39:25] alex88: seems there's just 1 byte difference
[21:02:02] alex88: dotty: where did you read that?
[21:02:21] alex88: even if they're cached, they don't break CSRF protection, they'll break the requests
[21:04:16] alex88: mhhh cloudflare probably just sends you the http request, it should be transparent

[00:00:55] alex88: am I the only one that after upgrading to rails 5 has a lot of issues?
[00:01:28] alex88: websockets reconnecting continuously since client isn't receiving pings, db connections going in timeout since rails it's not able to find a connection in the pool after 5 secs?
[00:03:42] alex88: fryguy: I'm on a new project and this thing is happening in development only
[00:03:47] alex88: after a restart of rails server it works fine
[00:03:52] alex88: but from time to time I've to restart it
[00:04:48] alex88: fryguy: well we do a lot of projects, I've both upgraded and created new ones
[00:05:53] alex88: default one, puma
[00:06:07] alex88: https://gist.github.com/alex88/129e07e9f81c4790722b5385d95757ca
[00:06:37] alex88: Min threads: 5, max threads: 5
[00:06:44] alex88: everything is default
[00:07:22] alex88: but even with one request it fails
[00:07:34] alex88: and also websockets, client reconnects all the time since it's not receiving anything on its side
[00:08:57] alex88: after just a restart of rails s, everything works fine
[00:09:03] alex88: not on a new project
[00:09:09] alex88: I also use the actioncable npm package
[00:09:30] alex88: 100, and I run postgresql in foreground and I don't see any error in stdout/stderr
[00:12:14] alex88: nvm not a big problem, at least it works fine in production
[00:12:26] alex88: so maybe something on my pc, but rails 4 nor other languages had similar issues
[00:15:51] alex88: Amras0000: are you doing a request? can you paste your rake routes?

[19:46:42] alex88: in development it connects, I get 'Successfully upgraded to WebSocket (REQUEST_METHOD: GET, HTTP_CONNECTION: Upgrade, HTTP_UPGRADE: websocket)' in logs
[19:46:54] alex88: but after a few seconds the client reconnects again
[19:46:57] alex88: over and over
[19:47:29] alex88: any clue?
[19:47:35] alex88: no console errors, no errors on rails side
[19:48:51] alex88: no, I thought it was a port issue but it's not, same problem

[21:20:00] alex88: do I need redis in development to being able to broadcasting?
[21:22:54] alex88: even in development? I thought that with 1 server everything can be done within the app server
[23:30:21] alex88: why does DateTime.now.change(usec: 0).usec doesn't return show 0?
[23:30:31] alex88: *doesn't return 0?
[23:31:25] alex88: this one works fine instead 1.hour.ago.change(usec: 0).usec

[03:32:42] alex88: hi there, I'm trying to parse this csv https://gist.github.com/alex88/0f0693e217dd8dba24be9b3dd0db4010 but I get the error you can find in the gist, however I don't see anything special on that line
[03:33:51] alex88: I know it's a weird csv, but this is what the customer can do... :(
[03:40:43] alex88: monoprotic: damn... let me see if I can make a reproducible link on repl.it
[03:42:09] alex88: copy pasted the file content and it works, but reading from file doesn't..
[03:43:23] alex88: File.read with the same filename i use for CSV parse shows the file
[03:43:34] alex88: maybe there are some special characters or s*** like that
[03:46:21] alex88: yeah a lot, and this is an output from a "tech guy for that company", he might never have seen a csv
[03:46:41] alex88: one empty line after each data line...
[03:47:58] alex88: well even gist complains about stuff on the csv file
[03:50:08] alex88: in atom if I type " in the search field it correctly highlights the quotes in the file, so they should be fine
[03:51:08] alex88: is there a way to see all the other chars? like \r \n etc?
[03:52:15] alex88: so, by default it gives error on line 3, if I remove the first line it says error is on 4th line :S
[03:52:31] alex88: if I remove 2 lines, error on line 6
[03:55:36] alex88: here we go
[03:56:01] alex88: added this https://gist.github.com/alex88/0f0693e217dd8dba24be9b3dd0db4010#file-ruby-rb-L21 and it works
[03:56:13] alex88: so maybe there were some dirty stuff on the file
[03:58:54] alex88: monoprotic: how do you check that?
[03:59:01] alex88: so I can test the same on my input file
[03:59:32] alex88: oh way better
[04:00:13] alex88: monoprotic: oh no, the file was copy pasted, since the original file is much larger
[04:00:20] alex88: maybe copy-paste does something
[04:01:16] alex88: oh nope, but I thought it was something different so I just copied the last 10 lines instead of the 11k lines
[04:01:42] alex88: also because csv said error was on line 3
[04:05:38] alex88: monoprotic: anyway, thanks a lot for helping
[04:09:40] alex88: has joined #RubyOnRails
[04:11:47] alex88: hi there, what's the safe way to do https://gist.github.com/alex88/3269b5700079ead05d6310d8b0fcdd94 ?
[04:12:12] alex88: I've an array of arrays, each subarray is the list of the fields of a table and I want to insert them on the database
[04:46:05] alex88: monoprotic: anyway, problem is back, actually I've seen that just opening/saving file with atom changes it and makes it readable by csv
[04:47:33] alex88: yeah, well, I don't care, I'll ask them to get some better made csv
[04:48:17] alex88: nofxx: file -I shows charset=us-ascii
[04:48:31] alex88: not 100% sure how to check
[04:49:28] alex88: nofxx: error was "CSV - Unquoted fields do not allow \r or \n" and after a chomp seems it's fixed but now error was back...
[04:49:31] alex88: sure thank you!
[04:50:24] alex88: nofxx: oh I've also read to use rb when opening file
[04:51:21] alex88: nofxx: here I have to do https://gist.github.com/alex88/00f8e54e0d45f98fc5bba0eb6c6513c3 to clear lines and remove metacharacters that were creating that issue
[04:51:29] alex88: anyway let me try that :D
[04:51:58] alex88: sure, enjoy :)
[04:54:16] alex88: nofxx: nothing, same error, I've still to rely on .chomp on every line :D
[04:54:40] alex88: the funny part was that csv was saying error on line 3, then I removed line 1 and it said error on line 4 :D
[05:18:06] alex88: mmhh https://repl.it/CQvu what's wrong here? date seems correct to me
[05:18:24] alex88: format shouldn't be the same as strftime?
[05:28:59] alex88: monoprotic: seems they're valid only when formatting a date to a string, not when parsing
[05:29:14] alex88: nevermind, removed them and seems to work
[05:43:18] alex88: Quit: Page closed
