[16:51:33] herbst: Hey there! Can anyone possibly help me with a puma issue i face? I am trying to implement phased-restart. However everytime i run the command from my git hook (same user tho) i end up with 502 Bad Gateway and the following in my log: *75 connect() to unix:///.../puma.sock failed (111: Connection refused) while connecting to upstream
[14:22:57] herbst: I just kicked a production app offline by trying to add Gzip, even thought i removed everything again i am stuck with this error message: https://dpaste.de/V2gn
[14:23:46] herbst: If i add the htmlcompressor gem (which i didnt use before) it complains about a missing Something::STATIC
[14:26:39] herbst: I returned to the last working commit, removed files in /tmp and restarted the server and i am still stuck with this
[12:48:10] herbst: Somehow when i run "rake test" it loads my fixtures into my development database, removing everything that i have fixtures for (but keeping stuff i dont have some). Any ideas what i am doing wrong?
[12:50:29] herbst: Any ideas how i not have to type 'RAILS_ENV=test rake test' and set that as option somewhere?
[12:57:38] herbst: actually you are right, that wont make my bash state much more awkward than it is already :) ty
[12:19:20] herbst: I am trying to get ActiveStorage working, when i try to produce variants (similar to the doc, but with properties that could actually work) i only get "image not found" - location.picture.variant("--resize-to-fit" => "600x300")
[12:20:20] herbst: The variant in the docs (avatar.variant(resize_to_fit: [100, 100])) just results in "-resize-to-fit" (why one -?) not found
[21:44:10] herbst: Not exactly a Rails question, and maybe someone has done something similar. I have a web applications and many (remote) servers that do things and feed of data from the web application. This can be easily be done by master->slave replication using postgres. However the slaves also need to report statistics back to the web application. And this is where i am stuck. Its a lot of data, and i feel i cant just remotely connect to my main db to write
[21:49:01] herbst: To clearify it a bit: My "slaves" are email servers. And i need to count emails, as well as log some of them. Both should reflect more or less live in the web application.
[21:51:32] herbst: hpfmn, however this sounds like a issue with Redmine if its happened within the update, maybe you need to ask them directly
[17:58:14] herbst: I upgraded to Rails 5.1.4 and Ruby 2.4.2 and now i get https://www.pastiebin.com/59e24ff2cbccb any ideas?
[18:01:19] herbst: i assume the issue is somewhere in my code. But the error message just talks about sprockets
[18:03:42] herbst: i wondered about this as well, but it is what i got when i run a fresh `bundle install`
[11:37:23] herbst: I need to test if a form is triggered with the right params to a external url with capybara and minitest. Does anyone have any suggestions? Stuck right now
[11:37:49] herbst: whenever i click the search button i get "ActionController::RoutingError: ActionController::RoutingError: No route matches [GET] "/@@search""
[11:40:23] herbst: that it creates the right get request / builds the right url. I realize its pretty obvious it does, but it needs to be tested nontheless :)
[11:41:18] herbst: I have tests that confirm everything around it, i just have none that confirms that the button indeed redirects you to the right page with the right parameters
[11:43:45] herbst: it seems rails ignores the host and only tries to query the path, what then fails
[11:44:56] herbst: huh, you are right. Next to unrelated log stuff poltergeist actually uses the whole url
[11:48:07] herbst: awesome. really works like a charm. And poltergeist is already included anyway. Thanks a lot guys!
[13:43:11] herbst: i need to check the referrer for font files in the vendor/assets directory. Is there any straight forward way to do this?
[13:44:03] herbst: In other words, i need to implement this .htaccess rule somehow: https://gist.github.com/b1nary/96369396ac127023e76889cd06b25466
[13:45:11] herbst: the webserver is not my choice. I just need to "protect" those damn font files because of the license agreement
[13:45:51] herbst: it was just a example for what i want to do. I am obviously looking for a rails solution
[13:48:35] herbst: well yeah sounds reasonable. i just dont want to ask the devops team to change the config on multiple servers if there would be a alternative
[13:49:36] herbst: thinking about it its the only reasonable way tho, send_file would just mess with the ram usage i assume
[09:18:40] herbst: I need help installing pg :/ Whatever i do (mostly iterating between these tips: https://bitbucket.org/ged/ruby-pg/src/e61a06f1f5ed1006563b731ee3dc1e10f426d6cf/README-OS_X.rdoc?fileviewer=file-view-default) all i get is http://pastebin.com/73pp5PPt
[09:20:54] herbst: oh wow i hate myself right now. Big thanks sevenseacat. I tried everything but i did not expect that i have to start xcode to actually agree (again) to their shitty terms ...
[12:01:13] herbst: After a update from 4.2.6.rc1 to 4.2.6 i get these (warnings): https://i.imgur.com/1eQkk6V.png Any ideas why this could be? It is the only project where this happened.
[12:08:07] herbst: i know i could just use `RUBYOPT=W0 bin/rake` but i would rather know why and change it back
[15:53:40] herbst: when i have a def something(var1: , var2: ) can i get a list of all arguments to iterate over them?
[16:01:24] herbst: i imagined this would be answer, but was still hopping there is some fancyness i dont know about
