if i run $bundle on the command line after having put a gem into my Gemfile - isn't it supposed to place the Gem into /vendor folder somewhere? It doesn't do that for me but instead to some global gem directory
hi i'm a rails beginner, which asset pipeline to choose? sprockets or grunt/bower ?
i just wonder if the rails core team ever intend to integrate tools like grunt for static asset compilation. so far i understand that its all about Convention but i wonder if there is a discussion about it or if sprockets is nailed for the future
sourcemap compilation support and live reload are two things that come into my mind, also the whole community activity on projects like grunt and its eco system with the many plugins
i have no problem with going with sprockets (i like convention), i just wonder how common it is for rails people to use something else and what their experiences have been
