[16:20:08] tetraktys: Hi all, I've been following (relevant) steps in this gist: https://gist.github.com/maxivak/690e6c353f65a86a4af9 in order to have ActionMailer to use the sidekiq queues. But in development (from the console) mails are queued somewhere else (don't show in the UI) and after a while the console starts putting logs for the mailer. Is this expected behavior?
[20:01:27] tetraktys: Hi all, how can I establish a has_one "through" a has_many as explained in this gist: https://gist.github.com/joostvanrijn/9f1e553b6edbb46aa2f7565dbed6b426 I don't want to set an additional "primary" attribute on product images, just return the one with the lowest priority index
[20:26:47] tetraktys: when i use my current primary_image method, when listing the products the database gets hit each product
[20:28:38] tetraktys: It's for a product list. 48 products are shown (with their respective primary image) and i want to speed it up by not querying the database for a primary image for each product
[13:02:03] tetraktys: Hi all, for a private kpi dashboard i need to collect data from various sources (models) to be returned in one controller action (as JSON, since it's going to be parsed in Vue). What would be a best practice to collect said data? At this moment i create a hash for each source and merge it when all has been collected
[16:16:58] tetraktys: hi guys, is it possible to have two different "default" wrappers for simple_form? Bootstrap in admin and a custom wrapper on the public website?
[16:21:46] tetraktys: that was easy... i can simply do SimpleForm.default_wrapper = :foo in the root controller
[15:23:14] tetraktys: What would currently be a best practice concerning error pages? I need different layouts depending on whether the error occurred in the public domain or in the admin section
[13:58:50] tetraktys: Hi all, I'm trying to implement dynamic custom 404/500 pages more or less following this post: https://mattbrictson.com/dynamic-rails-error-pages However: I want the pages to be different for the public and the admin part. How should i go about that?
[14:55:57] tetraktys: What would currently be a best practice concerning error pages? I need different layouts depending on whether the error occurred in the public domain or in the admin section
[20:33:03] tetraktys: It seems as if the webpack-dev-server also compiles the scss partials seperately. and obviously the variables won't work then
[21:02:09] tetraktys: All SO posts tend to lean towards @import order, but my _variables.scss is imported before _foo.scss
[09:02:20] tetraktys: hi guys, in the legacy project i'm working on right now there is an Order model, which belongs to a Buyer. Now I've implemented a GuestBuyer model (Order belongs to GuestBuyer), but I'm looking for a way to have order.buyer either reference a Buyer (if present) and to a GuestBuyer otherwise. How should I go about it?
[15:07:49] tetraktys: epochwolf So I've inherited this legacy code where a guest user has his temporary id set in the session. Is it not possible to write feature specs then?
