[02:46:43] yonahw: jonathanwlee: can you show your estimate model?
[02:53:41] yonahw: jonathanwlee: how about schema.rb, maybe you are missing the column in your db
[02:55:18] yonahw: jonathanwlee: did you run a migration in which you added the column?
[02:57:04] yonahw: jonathanwlee: I don't see a project_id in your estimates table
[03:18:19] yonahw: jonathanwlee: http://guides.rubyonrails.org/form_helpers.html#select-boxes-for-dealing-with-models
[03:19:00] yonahw: jonathanwlee: I belive you should be able to do it the same way as you did in the create form
[03:23:10] yonahw: jonathanwlee: show me a gist please and I'll see if I can fix it for you.
[03:25:52] yonahw: nice, even better to solve it yourself

[01:46:04] yonahw: Spaceghost|cloud: how's life?
[01:47:11] yonahw: I'm really nobody, just used to hang around the ruby channels a lot.
[01:47:50] yonahw: haven't touched any ruby in a while though. I miss it at times.
[01:49:15] yonahw: I work in a .net shop. Was doing a lot of F# for about a year. Now more C# and VB.net. Played with Haskell on my free time for a bit, and now playing with Go.
[01:51:23] yonahw: Spaceghost|cloud: that sounds pretty awesome. Funny that those are all languages I have almost no experience with.
[01:52:35] yonahw: I think there's a lot of value in learning some sort of functional programming even if you don't use it regularly
[11:08:21] yonahw: I'll often stash when I notice a refactoring needed, perform the refactoring and check that in, then continue with feature.
[11:10:27] yonahw: Scient: I don't know that I came up with this idea. I just find it makes it much easier in the future to figure out how the code changed and why.
[11:11:32] yonahw: at my work we also pull commits between branches to release specific features so having really clean commits can be important
[11:12:10] yonahw: thankfully we are switching to always release off of master soon
[11:12:18] yonahw: workmad3: yes this is also very important
[11:12:55] yonahw: yeah and that's pretty rare seeing as you found the refactoring need while touching code
